First I'd like to say thank you in advance for helping with my issue. It's very much appreciated!
I have Windows XP Service Pack 1
Avast detected a virus, Win 32: Junk Poly [Cryp] when I ran a Boot Scan and so I've moved it to the Chest.
I'm still having issues using the internet. For example, slow Internet Explorer performance which leads to the screen freezing, multiple windows popup (7+) for autoinsurance, and a Messenger Service Pop-up appears frequently which says "STOP! SYSTEM MAY REQUIRE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION Your operating system registry may have errors or be corrput." From research it seems like this is some type of malware???
I've downloaded Superantispyware and Malwarebytes and have run both in Safe mode and removed what they have found. However, I'm still having issues and I'm at a loss for what to do next.
Should I delete the virus in the Chest?
How do I go about removing the various popups which I assume are a result of malware?

You are on a Sony laptop, am I right?
An analysis showed that you have no active firewall running, check windows update, because your version of IE 6.00.2800.1106 is out of date and vulnerable to known exploits. We are now at SP3?
Use this program to check if you have the latest updates and patches for the third party software, you have at that machine, Secunia PSI: http://secunia.com/PSISetup.exe or do a check online: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/
Then I'd like you to upload the following file to virustotal.com CCD.exe to see if it is genuine and legit, see:

Furthermore I see no real issues in your logfile.txt,

Why have you not updated sp1 ? You need to disable messenger service.This is done automatically with sp2. Please read the link carefully.I am suprised to learn people still have servicepack 1 xp

Thank you, thank you for your help.
Yes I do have a Sony laptop. It had Service Pack 1 because I recently restored it to it's original settings. Then I got a virus and malware and I was wary of upgrading to Service pack 3 before getting rid of them. I have upgraded to SP3 and have gotten all the latest updates and patches
I uploaded the CCD.exe file to virustotal.com & the results say it's legit.
So again, thanks for everything! You're great for helping.

Please read above. I'm not computer savvy and didnt know if I should upgrade eventhough I had a virus & malware. Thank you for the information and link it was helpful.

You are welcome, glad we can be of any help, that is our mission here. Just another bit of advice for the future:
To be protected against future (re-)infection it is of the utmost importance you have your windows version updated with the latest Service Pack(s), have all issued patches installed, are not going around the Internet with an outdated or not fully patched vulnerable browser, and make sure that all the third party software (Sun Java, Adobe reader and what have you) on it is of the latest version and fully patched, a really good tool to check that and keep checking that is Secunia PSI, to be downloaded from here: http://secunia.com/PSISetup.exe
First you could do an online scan at their site: http://secunia.com/vulnerability_scanning/online/?task=start with the Secunia Online Software Protector to see that you actually need this grandiose security freebee aboard your machine,
