Title: How to select a skin?
Post by: unbob on February 20, 2009, 07:35:16 PM
I have downloaded/installed 3 skins from the avast! skins page.

But when I click on the avast! systray icon, I'm still seeing the same old "default" skin. Why?

And, how do I select one of the skins I previously downloaded/installed? Do not see any way to do this using program settings.

TIA, Rob

Are you using Avast Home?

From inside avast, when you have started the program -> Menu -> Choose skin (or something like that, I have another language for avast)

Hey unbob!

Right click the Avast spinning icon.
Click "start avast! Antivirus."

the memory scan will run, then your interface will open.
click menu on the interface (where that is depends on the skin,
but normall in the top left corner.)
choose "select skin"
In the dialog box just highlight the one you want to try.

only the on-demand scan and the right click scan will be skin-ed.
The interface for the providers (shields) will not be.
In fact if you want the right click scan skin-ed you will need to check that.
right click spinning icon+program settings+common+enable skins for explorer extension.

If you double click a downloaded file of a skin it will execute, open avast and be set as the default one...
