Title: [SOLVED] After Boot-Time Scan - Not Able to See Scan Results - Please Help...
Post by: adifrank on February 21, 2009, 08:25:46 AM
Hi. I'm a new avast user. Just installed it a couple of days ago.
Last night I scheduled a boot-time scan and before going to bed I restarted the computer. When the computer came back on, before Windows started up , I saw that avast was scanning my local drives as requested - so all looked fine. The only strange thing I noticed was that the progress percentage seemed to be stuck on 0%. After ten minutes it still remained 0%.

Anyway, I went to sleep and left it running. In the morning I saw that Windows was up and running.... it was just my normal desktop. No warnings, questions, or indications from avast.... so I assumed the scan went well without running into any suspicious files. I expected to see some kind of window indicating that the scan had completed... that my system is healthy... that so-and-so number of files were scanned, etc... which is usually the case with other anti-virus programs I've used in the past. But there was no such message. I tried searching for a log of the scan...
Clicked the menu button on the avast interface... found the menu option: Last Scan Results... but it was grayed out! View Scan Reports... was grayed out as well!

So now I'm a bit confused...  ???

Does anyone have any idea as to what might have happened?

The boot time scan log should be here:

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\report\aswboot.txt

Perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for.
 ;D Thanks!
