Title: problems with avast
Post by: gÃ¤nte on February 25, 2009, 10:23:38 PM: after my windows-login there always appaers in the first place a message like this:

ash Disp.exe Abbild fehlerhaft
Die Anwendung oder DDL C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\aswCmnBdll ist keine gültige Windows Datei. Überprüfen sie die mit der Installationsdiskette.

This leads to other problems, for instance I'm not able to use Outlook. The whole windows seems dissordered. I dont achieve to uninstall avast because if I try this my computer crashes.

What am I supposed to do?

I suggest an installation from the scratch:

1. Uninstall avast from Control Panel first.
2. Boot.
3. Download the latest version of Avast Uninstall (http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html) and use it for complete uninstallation.
4. Boot.
5. Install again the latest avast! (http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html) version.
6. Boot.
7. Check and post the results.
