Title: AVAST failing to scan some messages in thunderbird
Post by: xanda on May 07, 2004, 09:00:08 AM
It just doesn't scan some messages that i've been getting, no clean note or anything, however on some it does.

I think this needs fixing.

You didn't mention if the messages not scanned by Avast in TB were junk e-mail type messages or not. I also use Avast, with TB and it always seems to scan the e-mails that I want that are not considered as spam messages. Is this what is happening with you? Avast scans all of my outgoing e-mail and all of my incoming that are not spam. ;)

Its not junk...

It just didnt seem to get scanned, or get a clean note, and tis really anoying now, I want to keep using avast but problms like this with the mail really put me off.

Any idea on howto fix it? I also set it not to do outgoing mail because it says it cant, and I cant figure out how I would go about doing it, but mainly, the fact that it just didnt scan a few messges bothers me, andid like to know how to get it to work.

this is weird though...i've been using thunderbird with avast for a long time...and everything works fine...

avast should scan all incoming mails including spams!...unless you use a third party spam filter to filter them before avast scans

Nope, I use no 3rd part spam blockers, I connect to the net through a hardware firewall, but this can't be a problem, since it scans SOME mails...

Really bugging me people, any ideas?
