Title: Disable Self defense module silently
Post by: fofos on April 01, 2009, 02:42:48 PM
Hi all,

Could you tell me please if it's possible to disable the avast self defense module by a script without the pop-up message?

If it's possible, how?

Regards,

Jean Mich.

That would kind of defeat the purpose of the self-defence module if you could run a script to disable, so too could malware.

So I somehow don't believe that this functionality would be built into the program.

No, you can't, you shouldn't.
Why would you like to disable it?

Thanks for your answer,

I wants to disable this module because everyday I have an automatic maintenance on my computer and I want to disable this protection only during this maintenance by a script or another solution. (Because if the self protection is enabled, I cannot disable the Antivirus without the pop-up).

Regards,

Jean Mich.

I see no reason to disable the antivirus for *any* maintenance routine...
