Title: scanning e mail attachments
Post by: psdi on April 13, 2009, 06:45:28 PM
Hi
Have just registered so not sure if this right place for my query.

Installed 4.8 home about a month ago on recommendation of my son and generally all seems OK except for attachments to e mails which slow sending of e mail down. Adding  a couple of pics (say 800kb) stops e mail from sending.

I have de selected scanning outgoing e mails but the problem persists when there is an attachment. Is there a way to stop attachments being scanned ?

One other point i spend a lot of time using my lap top in Spain which is where i have experienced this problem.....don't think this should effect the effect the problem but thought i would mention it.

Thanks for any help out there.

Are you using MS Outlook (not the Express) to manage emails?
There is an option in Outlook/Exchange plugin to scan the files while being attached (not while sent).

You find the option Tech mentioned when you leftclick the A-symbol in the taskbar --> Details (probably already activated) --> choose the Outlook/Exchange provider in the left column --> customize --> third tab (picture is in German...)
