Title: VPS Destroyed
Post by: gneiman on June 07, 2003, 04:47:02 PM
 :o
Restarted my computer this AM and when I tried to load AVAST, after the memory scan I got the following message:

VPS:Destroyed

The interface shows the same message. When I update the VPS the update reports I have the most up-to-date file. But the scanner will not work. What happened and how do I fix it?

Thanks

Gneiman,

I sent you a pvt message but I guess you did not get it.
Anyway, it sounds like the VPS DB has been corrupted.
Can you manually do a program update? (not the DB)
Do any other functions from the main skin work?
Can you go into the chest and see if system files are listed?
What operating system are you using?
Has your Avast been updated before today?

Ok,
Searched for VPS file and renamed it. The downloaded the exe update from the AVAST website. Then restarted and VBS is intact and scanner is running now. Any ideas what might have corrupted or destroyed the file? Seems to be working right now. Keep your fingers crossed! ???
