Not with a lot of time to follow the details, but are they just saying that TSL is better than SSL?

TSL is the follow on to SSL:

I was just curious about the protocol as my ISP imlemented it for email transfer and when they did my email stopped and I had to have my ISP walk me through setting up the correct ports and server names and I had to make sure that avast! Internet Mail did not use the TSL/SSL ports but the standard ports.

I think this will be available in avast! V5 I believe.

As I understood Gibson, he was to talk about the RFC for the new standard TLS 1.2.

But he went back to SSL2 which is outdated, SSL3/TLS1 which took over and told how much better
the TLS1.2 would be. That part went over my head.

Interesting to learn that SSL2 dates back to 1995 and SSL3/TLS1 dates back to 1997.
12 years old technology still in use to secure our data. Fingers crossed...
