Title: Installation
Post by: imranz on May 21, 2009, 08:34:37 PM
I have an NT 4 Server with 3 (C, D, E) hard drives. Lately I am unable to perform updates because the message says "not enough space."

Before I upgrade the C drive:

1. Is it possible to direct installation to use space on another drive, say D or E which have lots of free space?
or
2. Can I reinstall Avast Server Edition on any of the other drives?

3. Is there any other way to keep the protection files up-to-date before I upgrade the C drive?

Thanks

Please post the last page or so of <avast4>\Setup\Setup.log (taken right after the update fails).
It's possible that the error is actually unrelated to disk space (how much space do you have on the drive where the system %TEMP% variable points?)

Here is the file, I believe you need.

Thanks

PS. I have about 1GB space left.

I'd say this is more related to RAM/virtual memory than disk space.
Please try using the full VPS updater (http://www.avast.com/eng/updates.html) on the machine... hopefully the subesequent incremental updates will run again.

You are absolutely correct. It was a low VM problem. The manual updater didn't do any good. Increasing the Pagefile size did the job.  Thanks a million for your help.
