Title: Does Avast perform functions similar to BOClean?
Post by: tango91a on May 25, 2009, 09:28:47 PM
Hi,

Does Avast perform functions similar to Comodo BOClean? BOClean stand-alone will be decommissioned very soon, and I do not want to switch to CIS AV yet.

Currently using CIS (Firewall, Defense +), Avast AV, and BOClean. Periodic scans using Windows Defender, Housecall, and SuperAntiSpyware.

Thanks for your assistance!

Hi tango91a,

Look for some answers here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=45573.0
Have put forward here a similar question like you have, we will come to an acceptable solution here I think. A pity COMODO BoClean as a stand alone realtime additional scanner is being discontinued, it brought Comodo a lot of fans (I am one), while I was not that enthusiastic about their over-bloated firewall (a real murder to uninstall even) and their total anti-malware suite,

So sodding what, this is no different to other authorised issuing organisations, perhaps they may have to pay a little more.
