Title: Avast Linux does not start!
Post by: medic2000 on June 22, 2009, 04:15:10 PM
When i type the free licence key and hit enter it gives an error and does not start:

An error occured in avast! engine:Memory can not allocate.

I have Debian 5.01 Stable 64 bit. My friend has Ubuntu 9.04 and the same error.

Probably the IA-32 layer is incomplete, and SHM does not work. Please install the ia32-libs package.

Sorry to mention my friend's Ubuntu is 32 bit already.

By the way i have switched to an another Linux Gui anti-virus scanner. It has native 64 bit support too.You can close the thread if you want.

Hallo, i'have never had this problem (and you are the first who reports them) - latest build works OK on my side. Please, could you run it under strace -f, to get a clue, where's the source of the problem?
