Title: Shutdown Avast! Temporarily on OSX Leopard
Post by: Cycles4Fun on June 23, 2009, 05:13:34 PM
I need to upgrade the firmware on my Mac.  The installation instructions request all applications to be shutdown before installation.  I can't figure out how to stop Avast! temporarily so I can install the upgrade.  I do not wish to uninstall it; just shut it down for a little while.

Thanks for any help,
Rob

Nevermind, I finally found it.  :)  It is in the Avast! preferences.  You deselect the "Launch at startup as persistent application" on the Generic tab.
