Title: Virus update

Hi all,

I'm new to Avast as I got it installed a few days ago. From my understanding, the virus defintions are updated every day and the avast icon will spin when the updating is in progress. (Am I right?) Recently, i realise the icon spins nonstop for a few mins even when I'm not using my laptop and my modem is flashing. It seems to update something but definitely not virus definitions. (Normally, avast will flash a notice saying "a new version of virus database has been installed') May I know what avast is updating? Thanks.
