Title: access scanner pop-ups
Post by: JGL on June 10, 2003, 09:04:57 AM
My computer now shows every file scanned, every time it is acessed.  This only started after the last update.  How do I get it to run only in the background?

Do you remember turning on an option that said "Show detailed info on performed action" in the "On-Access Protection Control" advanced settings?

That could be what's happening.

This has worked.  Thank you for the insight.  Once I put it to silent mode, they stopped.  Thanks again.

No, don't turn on the Silent Mode! ;) This is only suitable if you don't want to see anything from avast, ever, including the virus alerts! - like in Server environments where there is typically no one to dismiss the message boxes...

What n4cer meant was the first check box on the page - "Show detailed information"...

Ok.  So now I have "show detailed info on per servor" and "silent mode'' unchecked.  I want Avast to continue to operate in the background.  Is this correct?.

Yes, this is correct. This is the default setting that should be just OK for most of the users.
