I get nothing displayed on your link, so I can't see what the problem is.

Have you submitted the sample to avast or only to virustotal ?

Hello dos622

you are not letting virus total complete the task. as soon as you upload it wont give you results. wait for few mins until it displays everything. it has some 41 scanners.

for eg : it will be something like this : http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/f1bf23f41819eb03ce483d1e27fddbb0a01766c788282fbc863b08307db772fe-1248467085

soon it will be almost a month, as these two virus are walking freely. A support team can not do anything, except for that I gave my money?

sorry for the delay, there are many simultaneous tasks (finalization of v5, upcoming comparatives, new unpackers etc), which made the process of implementing and testing slower...

I do not care of what delays occur, I paid money for an antivirus that cures for viruses. instead, I was asked to wait for two months.
such support, I do not like
Title: Re: virus
Post by: Maxx_original on August 11, 2009, 04:47:20 PM
the update will be released today or tomorrow (Vlk knows more)... i would really like to be able to release it much sooner, but avast is not my personal bussiness and i couldn't make it faster even if i wanted to do that..

dos622: fully agree... i'm not satisfied with this situation, because we always want to offer a good protection.. we've already made some architectural changes in v5, which will allow us to update decompilers and unpackers from day to day (now it is much more complicated)... so yes, there are some things, which can bother you and we're aware of them and it's a pitty that we were not faster, but we're doing the best to prevent such problems in the future..

I guess, no choice, just quarantine the infected file manually by password-zipping it. This could lower the risk for some time, but if you are really sure of it, delete it. Always have some support/back-up scanners like Malwarebytes Antimalware (http://www.malwarebytes.org).

Hi,

I did not really understand what is happening when I read this thread.
If there is a particular virus that you want to get rid of, try Dr Web Cureit.
http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/

You could also try some online scanners.

Hope that this helps.

My best advice to you is to use David Lipman's Multi_AV tool. It uses 4 command line scanners (Kaspersky,Sophos,McAfee and Trend Micro). You can select only one scanner at a time but since you know that Kaspersky IDs it you could just run that one. It is a very handy tool to have because the tools and defs are downloaded fresh when you use it. So you can download the tools on a clean machine then copy them onto the infected machine.

About! this is great.
but why should I then buy avast, and set it across the network, if he does not treat viruses, and the forum support advised me to use other antivirus instead of being included in the base a couple of viruses?

PS. The virus is still not healed
