I just had to recreate my Outlook 2003 mail profile and noticed that there were hundreds of profiles with names beginning with AvastPstxxx where xxx is 3 to 5 numbers. (They're visible from Control Panel/Mail/Show Profiles.)
I've seen posts from people who found 2 or 8 of these, but not hundreds. And no one has responded saying what these are. I started to delete them, but I don't see a way to do this to a group of profiles, and after 15 minutes of deleting them one by one I've hardly made a dent.
What are these profiles?
Can they cause problems?
Is it OK to have hundreds of them?
If not, is there a way to delete them en masse?
