For what ever reason, I do not have any Avast sounds on Win7 RC. No wav's in program events menu to select from. ???
-
32bit or 64bit Win7?
-
Win7=64bit, Avast= ver 4.8
-
I noticed that as well on Win 7 32 bit avast! = 4.8.1351
I had to set up the sounds myself by navigating to the avast! sounds Folder:
C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\English

That did it...I looked all over for Avast, now realize it was under Alwil first :P On my XP machine the sounds were auto linked to the wav file(s). Tx for the info, I am making notes for setup when I finally get the RTM version.

Dear All,
Previously i would like to say thanks for your input,
Anyway, after i tried it yesterday and avast osund back to normal again.
But when last nite since i scan whole my system, then i lost again the sound and i need to re-setting again the sound.
My question is whether avast 4.8 not compatible yet with Windows 7 for some features like avast notice sound?

Yanto,
did you ever find a fix to your problem because I have the same issue with Windows 7 Home 64 bits and Avast 4.8?
Thanks,

Thanks,
Apparently it is a Win 7 thing that the Devs know about...
Guys, I'd say you're confusing the original poster quite a bit ;) - as I believe he has avast! 4.8, right?
The problem with Windows 7 is that the sounds are bound to a particular profile, or that the profiles change quite often, I'm not completely sure - but the truth is that the sounds are registered only in the profile that was active when avast! was installed, and they may disapper if that changes.
Bob and YoKenny were referring to avast! 5, currently in beta; the problem should be solved there, because avast! doesn't register the sounds as system events, but simply handles them itself (so, they should always be played, independent of the current profile).

Scott,
Thanks for the reply. I will cease searching for a solution and will just wait for Avast 5.... ;)
