It seems that IObit Security 360 becomes the target of malware due to its success.

If you download the program from a known source, you wouln't have this problem. :)
-

The problem is that newbies and the non-thinkers have no idea what is a known source.
One source is the same as another to them.

Even this doesn't exactly apply since the release of Win32:Induc virus...

Then that means Io Bit security is not good?

Then that means Io Bit security is not good?
Try to un-install anything from IOBit and its as hard get rid of as anything from Norton (Symantec) as it leaves junk all over your hard drive.
-
Then that means Io Bit security is not good?
No, not at all. You can trust in anything from IObit (at least for now). ;)

Then that means Io Bit security is not good?
Nothing wrong with IObit unless your careless as to where you download your software.
Read and verify before you press that download button.

IOBit Steals Malwarebytes' Intellectual Property
Malwarebytes has recently uncovered evidence that a company called IOBit based in China is stealing and incorporating our proprietary database and intellectual property into their software. We know this will sound hard to believe, because it was hard for us to believe at first too. But after an indepth investigation, we became convinced it was true. Here is how we know.

Wow....... :o.....i will now remove "smart defrag" from all of my computers....... >:(
-
We noticed this a few days ago when we received a complaint that malwarebytes only removed 20 infections and then charged for the rest
For those interested here is another company that is playing on the MBAM name http://wwwmalware-bytes.org/malwarebytes/index.html
XoftSpySE
-
During the course of our investigation, we uncovered additional evidence that IOBit may have stolen the proprietary databases of other security vendors as well. We are in the process of contacting these vendors.
I guess this is SUPERAntiSpyware and Ad-Aware..............
-
Wow! :o Really disturbing news. Maybe Alwill should add their software to the Avast database of fake antivirus? >:( ;D

It would be advisable to make the link to the suspect site unclickable, as in my quoted text just in case they have any other underhand tactics.

Fixed put in a code box

Is this the same, the name is written a bit different...
XOFTspy Portable Anti-spyware for U3
http://software.u3.com/Product_Details.aspx?ProductId=103&Selection=15&Lang=en-US
-
Fore some considerable tome xoftspy was listed on the spywarewarrior site (http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm (http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm)) as a rogue anti-spyware.
They were supposed to have cleaned up their act and were removed, personally there are many anti-spyware applications out there with no dubious history for me to ever use any of their software.

How very rude of these people.
Confirmed by hpHosts (http://hosts-file.net/default.asp?s=iobit).
Iobit is herby guilty of fraud.
-
Sounds like they're too lazy to come up with their own database. What a rip off.
-
I wonder whether this software is like an illegal version of something like GDATA or it is simply "repackaged" version of Malwarebytes...
As an end-user, it shouldn't be a problem if anti-virus companies "share" their info but it's illegal in the context of intellectual properties, which is not always respected outside of so-called "Western" countries. I guess some agreements in the area of international laws are needed among developed countries and rising ones.

Thieves would rather steal than work as honest work requires effort.
-
That mean they don't need to work hard they just get new malware from other databases and just intergrate them in Iobit security 360!
Too bad smart defrag will miss us!

Wahl Hell Yeah!! Lets get our Rope!! We aint gonna burn no cross on your front yard, but we will shore as hell roast some marshmallows on the cross somebody else has lit!!"
Malwarebytes has all the street cred of Eminem.
These are the same Wally's that billed themselves as a "Complete Malware Solution" yet bitched when they were tested as such!! (EMSI tests+ earlier SSupdater Tests.)
The motivation?
How about quashing an up and coming rival in the already crowded arena of
"antispyware/anti malware"?
Believe what you want.
I believe Malwarebytes is so crooked, they have to screw their pants on.
-
@normishmael
I say get the lawyers involved to settle their differences.

We also have many various sources of malware samples from warm-hearted users, computer security fans, and major security groups from all over the world. We have admitted that it’s hard to avoid mistakes, like a silly or duplicated name. But there is in no way means we steal Malwarebytes’ or any other's database. We are investigating and tracking on those items which Malwarebytes declared stolen.

MalwareBytes never released their "fake" detections into the wild. There's no way they could have been submitted by users.
Either MalwareBytes is lying, or IOBits is.
I know who I believe.
-
Who Sherlock Holmes!.............MalwareBytes ;)
-
The "truth" shall prevail, must that be the reason why we should stop this?
No, I dnt think so...Someone has got to pay for "their" deeds, reaping "their" fruits that "they" bore...
Justice be done my friends..^^ :)

Time to get rid of it and the rest of their software. :'(
I did it quite some time ago. I lost confidence when then did Advanced Windows Care a shareware.
Time to get rid of their Defragmentation tool...
-
All IObit software is now removed from my computers.
Advanced system care and smart defraggler
the new defraggler is http://www.piriform.com/defraggler
-

Interesting, think i must try this "Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver"
-
Auslogics Disk Defrag Screen Saver
Screen Saver ??? ???
-
But is Aulogic better?
It seem to defrag very fast I had some doubt about it!
-
I have now got rid of Iobit 360 security and advanced system care although neither gave me problems. Its just I trust MBAM more.I have been using Auslogics disk defrag for a while now with no problem.

IOBit Theft Conclusion
Nevertheless, IObit did subsequently remove all of Malwarebytes' definitions from their database (thereby cutting their database size by ~40% in one fell swoop). Though we did not receive an apology from them, nor any official acknowledgment of their theft, this reaction speaks for itself. Removal of our intellectual property was what we wanted, and we therefore consider that we have won. We thank the community, online media outlets and our partners for their support in helping us achieve this favorable result.

I'm glad to hear the good news. ;D
-
Thanks for the news.
Indeed, no iObit products in our computers anymore.
-
It goes to show what people power can do in boycotting a product. If everyone had said they were not bothered I doubt if Iobit would have done this.It also shows that MBAM were right to get the story out.
-
never used them in the first place
and i guess i won't use them at all
their products are now in the last place-crap ;D
-
Total disapointment, oh well... wont miss it then :o
-
I have never used them and personally after this I never will. There really are plenty of applications out there that will do the same across the whole IObit range, that don't have this stigma hanging over them to choose a different company.
