Just installed Avast on HP Laptop running Vista 32. Has been updated to Service Pack 2. I had AVG Free which ran fine until Service Pack 2 was installed. Vista Security Center notified me it wasn't running, even though it was. I uninstalled AVG and all of it's settings. I then downloaded Avast Home and had the same problem. I ran from the command prompt, as administrator, verify repository and got a good response. Also ran stop net winmgmt, renamed the repository folder and then start net winmgmt, rebooted. Now Security Center doesn't even see Avast as my AV. I know I can tell Security Center that I will monitor AV myself. Is this program not compatible with the latest version of Vista? Avast is definitely running so I am not too concerned. I just like things to run properly.
Thanks.

Well... what we suggest seems you've already done...
I suggest you follow (again) the instructions here: http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23457.msg193534#msg193534
Check your system time and date also.
