Title: Can not detect drive
Post by: N264 on September 15, 2009, 03:16:36 AM
Hi

BART can't detect drive. In the last 2 days I came across 2 machines where BART CD could not detect HD. One was ACER Desktop and the other one is Toshiba Lap Top. The only common thing these 2 drives have is a hidden EISA partition. How do I get BART to detect these drives. It works for other machines/drives SATA or IDE.

thanks

Nick

you have to find out what chipset is used in the laptops

its possible that the newer chipsets aint supported by the (at this moment) outdated build of the bart cd...

if you find the drivers you might be able to use them while booting

I've returned both machines already, can't check which chip set they used. Got them scanned and cleaned as external drives with Lavasoft. However the PC was not really new, Pentium 4.

seen the age of the processor you would say that the chipset would be recognised, despite of that it is still possible that the machines used a specific chipset which is not included in the driver package that is included with the BART CD.

I found the solution on this while using on Lenovo T500. I disabled the SATA AHCI and use compatibility mode.
