Title: Avast! messing with Utorrent
Post by: AK_Aaron on September 16, 2009, 01:20:16 AM
about 2-10 minuets into downloading a file using utorrent i get an error message saying that another program is trying to access the file and so utorrent cannot continue downloading. Through trial and error I've narrowed my problem down to Avast!. When i disable Avast! my downloads continue unhampered. The P2P shield is set up to exclude Utorrent, i think that it is one of the other shields that is the problem though i can't say for sure.

Any ideas?

The P2P Shield setting should be enough, but it could be Standard Shield trying to scan the file while being saved/opened.
Maybe you could exclude that folder from scanning and SCAN the file after the download is finished and before running it.
