Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks Mark

The Kiss concert must have been great here as I could hear it booming through to my apartment last Wednesday:

Happy Thanksgiving, Yokenny. Could you help me to make clear some questions?

I am a teacher of English and every year I tell my pupils about customs, traditions and holidays of English-speaking countries. Could you explain what "Canadian Thanksgiving" is? What is the difference between it and "American Thanksgiving"?

History and Origin of Canadian Thanksgiving
Quote
In Canada Thanksgiving is celebrated on the second Monday in October. Unlike the American tradition of remembering Pilgrims and settling in the New World, Canadians give thanks for a successful harvest. The harvest season falls earlier in Canada compared to the United States due to the simple fact that Canada is further north.

I worked in Raleigh N.C. for 2.5 years and had the opportunity to experience an American Thankgiving first hand and had a 4 day weekend so I went to see the Biltmore Mansion in Ashville N.C. that was quite beautiful and large.  We drove along the Blue Ridge Parkawy for a bit on the way back and it was amazing with all the trees in their Fall colors.
While I was there I received my nickname as the locals say Yo instead of Hello.

The tour there included a sampling of the wines made there.

On this day we give thanks

Even on Thanksgiving Day, it is easy to find innumerable things to complain about if only focusing on the small picture.

The big picture, however, should be the key focal point on a day such as today, but it is too often barely considered or, worse, taken for granted.

Instead, it's the small things in life that too often block the view and the viewpoint.

Happy Thanksgiving Canada!
I am ignorant and didn't realize that there was a Canadian Thanksgiving so I googled it and came up with this website.
