Title: security center and malware

just installed on a vista home system [sp2]  the windows security center says malware protection is off  but when i click "turn it on" button avast does an update  which is already updated and nothing changes and the warning is still there. i realize this is similar to others i have seen here but am looking for a different point of view . thanks  tom t

Sometimes, Windows Security Center stops recognizing your antivirus or firewall... So, check your system time and date and also http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=23457.msg193534#msg193534
