Help me, please! Could I upgrade the AVAST Home edition to the latest version without internet connection? Or should I uninstall an older version and install the latest one?

Hi uladzimirm :)
I am not sure if I understand you right, but if you want to use the latest Avast! 4.8 on a PC with no internet connection, you should use a PC with internet connection to download this tool for uninstalling the older version :
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast-uninstall-utility.html
And download the latest Avast! 4.8 from here :
http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
Or if you want to participate in Avast! 5.0 BETA download from here :
http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=50102.0
Remember it is still a BETA so you use it on your own risk !
But if you just want to download Virus updates you can do that manually here :

I hope this is an answer to your question :)

Edit : I become old, those stupid typo's :-\

I will not disagree with Rednose in any way, but if you have a current avast version with the updates way out of date, there is another option.
The major geeks websites has complete avast updates, the file size as of yesterday was 29.1 MB.
The copy paste is ------ avast! Virus Definitions October 28, 2009 [ 29.1 MB | Freeware | Win All]
Not only does major Geeks have such a links for Avast on a very three or four days basis, but they also do the same
for a wide variety of AV's.
Of course someone has to download it and burn it to CD-r or pen drive, but if nothing else, most public libraries will allow
anyone to do it with library fast broadband.
