In the avast professional demo the option to run a boot time scan is greyed out. As well as a number of other options - why is this?
-
There are no limitations in the trial version.
If you are using a 64bit OS boot-time scanning isn't currently possibly so that is why it is greyed out. Without more information on the others it is impossible to say.

Thank you for the promt reply! That I was unaware of, I am curious do you know of any real time scanner that is capable of boot time scanning a 64 bit OS?
-
As far as I'm aware there are no real-time AV capable of a boot-time scan even on 32bit other than avast.
avast are working on the boot-time scan feature for the new version of avast 5, not the 5.0 version but likely to be for the 5.1 version.
