Title: new install - out of date
Post by: AZbell on November 16, 2009, 05:29:04 PM
I downloaded avast free today and my Windows security says it's out of date. When I click on the update link (on the security center screen) it says it's up to date.  What can I do?  Also, there doesn't seem to be a screen for avast that lets me know all compontents are active and working, where I can select options like when to schedule virus scans or when the last update was installed or if updated are available, etc. I've never had an antivirus program that didn't give you this. I'm not sure I want to keep this program, it seems complicated.

If the date is correct, try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select 'avast! Anti-Virus,' click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow. This has in the past resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.

Don't give up on Avast. It does everything you mentioned.
