Title: avast sub folders
Post by: pscraja on December 04, 2009, 04:18:52 AM
Avast sub folders consumes a lot of space as given below:

Chest-511mb-(March 08 to Dec 09)
moved -115mb - (Aug 01 to Dec 09

1.  Is it safe to delete the old ones keeping those which were entered in the year 09?
2.  How do I restore the files from chest/moved to their respective locations - due to false positive alarms?

Kindly advise

For avast! Chest: http://support.avast.com/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&_a=viewarticle&kbarticleid=376
The files stay in Chest after you restore them, so you can delete them from there after that.

As for the "Moved" files (just moved, not into Chest), there's no automatic way to put them back to their original location, I'm afraid. You'd have to check the Log Viewer for the original locations of the infected files, and then move them there (and possibly strip the .vir extension) manually.
