Title: Sceduling a scan time in Avast free version
Post by: yachtpro on December 04, 2009, 06:41:50 AM
I dumped AVG Free for what I thought was a just as good, "lighter" and easier to use program.  It IS NOT easier to use!  Help is keyed to advanced settings only available in the paid version.  Can anyone tell me where to set the time for virus scans in the free version of Avast?  I can't find anything in the menu where I can do that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated before I dump this program and go back to AVG.  Thanks.
FYI: I leave my computer on 24/7 and only reboot when necessary.  Regarding another post here: Will a start up boot scan really lock up my machine with false positives and then require a complete re-installation and rebuild?  Also, do I have to do a "first scan" before additional features will work?.....such as how the HE_ _ do I schedule the virus scan to run at a certain time.

The Pro version will do that and unless there are some changes planned that I am not aware of, Version 5 will do that also.

You might download a trial copy of the  Version 4x Pro and check it out.
