Well I have avast Professional and lately it has found several components of win xp and internet explorer, DOS, windows media player and others like virus, and TBM as installer detects some virus, orbit, winamp, bittorrent and many others.
i've formatted my pc several times, and installed windows on the hd without having any program already downloaded avast again and continues as detecting virus.
Anyone have any solution to sort out this problem, my avast is already updated.
Thanks

Which is your avast version and the virus definitions version?
When does this start to happen?
Did you submit the files to Alwil to check if they're false positives?
-
I have Avast 4.8 Professional, the errors start to happen everytime i open up something for example Internet explorer and other programs. And no i did not submit the files.

Its weird it only detects a virus in windows XP not in vista :/

Hi there. I suggest you try Dr. Web LiveCD (http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd/?lng=en). Download it from a non-infected computer onto a CD.
