Title: "Win32:Polipos" Please Help!
Post by: adrianoreis on December 25, 2009, 07:45:51 PM
Well I have avast Professional and lately it has found several components of win xp and internet explorer, DOS, windows media player and others like virus, and TBM as installer detects some virus, orbit, winamp, bittorrent and many others.
i've formatted my pc several times, and installed windows on the hd without having any program already downloaded avast again and continues as detecting virus.
Anyone have any solution to sort out this problem, my avast is already updated.
Thanks

Which is your avast version and the virus definitions version?
When does this start to happen?
Did you submit the files to Alwil to check if they're false positives?

Yeah, it was my first thought it could be a file infector, but I never heard about this one. I am sorry about that :-[

Hi there. I suggest you try Dr. Web LiveCD (http://www.freedrweb.com/livecd/?lng=en). Download it from a non-infected computer onto a CD.
