Title: Avast 5 Will Not "Save" Applications to Sandbox
Post by: JimIT on January 20, 2010, 02:18:38 PM
Hi guys,

Product looks fantastic, and is running flawlessly except for a minor issue:

1st PC specs:  Pentium 4, 3GB RAM.  Windows 7 Home Premium
2nd PC specs:  Turion 64, 2GB RAM.  Windows XP Home

Both PC's have ThreatFire installed, but otherwise no identical software at startup.

When opening avast! and attempting to add executables to run virtualized, the program will not save the paths nor the program after closing the window.  Also, cannot use the "Run Virtualized" button either.

HOWEVER, if I use the context menu and right click the app to "Always Run Virtualized", it works flawlessly.  This is what I am doing now, and I know there are going to be a bunch of tech issues, but wanted to make you aware of this little issue.

Again, great job on avast! 5!!

Same here, hope this will be quickly resolved.

Same issues here. I decided to reinstall the freeware version, ditching the sandbox in favor of continuing to use Sandboxie (http://www.sandboxie.com/). Hopefully, the issues will be fixed for everyone staying with Pro.

Peter is aware of the problem, and it will be fixed soon :)

Apps always run in sandbox can be added in Expert Settings. If you use Pro version, please wait for program update (1-2 days), because settings is not fully functional in Pro (IS doesn't have that problem). You can also right-click on a desktop icon to do the same (Pro + IS).
