Title: web pages hanging
Post by: gishaver on January 21, 2010, 07:33:26 AM
I use Opera 10.10 and Avast! Home Edition 4.8.1368. This morning I updated to Avast 5.0.377 and it seems to be working all right. The problem is when surfing the web pages are starting to take a lot longer to load or get to about 90% and hang forever. This only started when I updated, anybody else going through this?

Are you using Avast free? What OS are you using? Any other security apps installed?

Any 3rd party firewalls? If so, Disabling it (make sure windows firewall is on) and see if browsing is any better.

If that's the case, in the firewall options try deleteing any entries related to avast/alwil software and let it make new ones for avast 5.
