Howdy guys

Ive just recently formatted my HDD, and installed the following software, Zone alarm 5 pro and Avast Home edition, running xp with sp 1, and pc is updated to latest patches from MS. Just recently i did a scan for adware with adaware. and during  i get Win32:Trojano-025 [Trj] message for C:\WINDOWS\rico.exe. Or even if i try and install something like an exe file, this message rises (Win32:Trojano-025 [Trj] message for C:\WINDOWS\rico.exe), ive tried all the option through avast, but it saying processor is already in use or cannot . There was an option to disable it when u next restart, but it still shows. Also cant do a search on it, its hidden.

Any one can help be much appreciated. Thanks.

go to safe mode (press F8 by booting) and scan the file with avast or delete the file

delete the file
This behaviour when opening (any ?) EXE-files is weird

Does this also happen when you click/open EXE-files outside the C:\windows folder ?

If so:

--> Don't delete the file !!

best move it to avast chest

it in the process of installation avast detects it.  or doing a scan with adaware, it picks it up.
