Title: Please Help
Post by: Area 51 on June 23, 2004, 08:22:17 PM
I have had a severe system crash here and lost everything i ever saved over the past 6 years. including my key code for the pro version of avast anti virus.

I have tried contacting the company 4 or 5 times and even tried calling them, all i get is busy signals all the time. maybe i am dialing it wrong. I am from Pennsylvania. and i was told to first dial 011 then the number is that correct?

Only one of the e-mails i sent actually sent back a receipt for it. so i know someone there knows of my problem, yet i get no response.

I hope i haven't wasted my money purchasing this software.  this is not how you treat paying customer's.

Some one who works here please help me recover my key code form ALWIL.

thanks in advance

Hi you can send me the purchase details (approx. date of purchase, your name, the email address you used when doing the purchase...) and I'll send you the key (provided the info matches, of course :)).

Send it directly to my email, please.

Thanks
Vlk

I love it when a plan comes together.

Don't mean to rub it in.....
but I would incorporate a backup system (drive) into my computer.

Live and learn.

Every thing i lost was on my secondary 80 gig hard drive called "d:" drive. nothing but storage on there and it was wiped clean.  we have no clue what happened. it wasn't a virus we know that.

all we were doing was playing some ac/dc on my 400 watt logitech thx sound system and right in the middle of high way to **** the computer made this awful sound so i hurry up and hit the reset button cause there was no way to stop the sound and when it rebooted everything was gone both on my c: drive and my d: drive.

any other suggestions.

Here is what I do.

Buy an external firewire drive and backup all your important data to it.

I formatted mine in NFTS file system and I backup files from my windows computer and my Mac computers. (Yes Mac OS X.3 Panther will read and write to NFTS drives!)
