Title: Windows Security Center reports Avast 5.0.377 is switched off
Post by: Oriolus on January 28, 2010, 06:31:52 PM
I upgraded from 4.8 to 5.0.377 (via CNET). It installed OKAY, but Windows Vista Home Premium SE 2 reports via its Security Center (WCS) that avast! Antivirus is switched off, while Avast itself tells me that my system is secured. Checking the button Switch on now in WSC doesn't work: It stays switched off according to Vista's idea. What's wrong?

I had to reboot for other purposes, and the wrong warning has disappeared, fortunately!

If you're still using 5.0.377 I strongly recommend you update to 5.0.396
as it has numerous fixes.
