im having a problem playing some videos on my cumputer i think it might have someting to do with the setting in avast. where can i check these settings
-
avast doesnt block specific videos, only when it detects virusses in it and that on-access scanner
i do think you should look into codecs
-
whats codecs

Why do you think Avast is causing the problem? Have you tried a different browser?
-
codecs (coder/decoder) are used to decode the stream of video and audio from a file, if a codec is not installed on your system then you wont be able to see the video or hear the audio.....
check for kazaa codec pack or any codecpack
like Jahn also asked, why you suspect Avast of "blocking" the video
-
i was not sore if it was avast or not. i can play the video on my laptop but not on my pc
-
then my best guess right now, its not avast but a codec problem

If you still can't play them try k-lite codec pack from cnet
