I have Pro 4.8-1368 and I decided to purchase two licenses. I followed the instructions and I keep getting the following:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
program: C:\PROGRA~1\ACT\actwp.wpi
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. .................HELP!

What exactly did you do right before this message popped up?
-
I went to "my documents" and tried to dbl click on the license file.

Hi deltonajim,
To use the license file, you need to add it via the program itself.
...
I presume you have been sent the license file, xxxxxx.avastlic ?
This file is to be opened by avast:
Left click avast! tray icon --> Click 'Maintenance' on the left --> Click on the subheading 'Registration' --> Click on the bar that says 'Upgrade' -->Click on the 'Insert avast! Pro Antivirus/Internet Security License File' --> In the window that opens, find and select the license file.
You should then be good to go :)
...

I really need to learn to read properly... ::)

I saw the info earlier and tried to do that. I cannot see anything saying "maintenance", side issue, I see where the license is for 5.0 and my screen shows 4.8-1368 will that make a difference?
-
scott, he's running V4 ;)
edit: don't know, a bit confusing now...

@ deltonajim: did you ask for a license replacement, ie you owned V4/pro and wanted to upgrade to V5?
-
OHHHHHH I am very sorry....I completely missed the part where you said avast! 4.8... :-[
Ok, so you were sent an xxx.avastlic file?
I am not sure even how the pro licenses are done in V4...isn't it just a code, similar to the home version?
Sorry again...I think I will be banging my head for a while...
