Title: Avast 4.8 Home EditionExclude list does not work
Post by: gauss76 on February 03, 2010, 04:19:30 PM
Hi,

I have been using AVAST Home edition now for a few years and am very pleased with it. However I have recently written a few scripts with Autoit3 and during my weekly scan the files keep being detected as viruses.

As I have written the programs myself I know that they are OK. I have tried to exclude the files using the following method:

Right Click on blue ball and select Program Settings->Click on the exclusions tab on the left of the screen->

I then either click on Add and enter the specific filename that I want to exclude with full path OR click on the browse button and tick the required file.

Finally I click OK

However the warnings keep coming up.

I have come to the conclusion that the exclusion list does not work.

Does anybody know if this can be fixed?

Many thanks.

Gauss76.

Hello,
you have to insert exclusion to appropriate shield (Standard Shiled).

How do I go about that?

I have tried left clicking on the blue "a" ball ->scrolling down to "standard shield" ->Customize->Advanced-> and then adding the file in the exclusions list but warning still appears on the file that I thought I had excluded when I scan.

What exactly did you enter into the exclusion list?
(The best thing to do is probably to copy&paste the full path from the virus warning window.)

I did what you said and copied the full path and filename from the warning sheet. But re-scanning keeps bringing up the same warning!
