Title: Settings/Exclusions not working; also, interoperability with free Anti-Malware
Post by: Paul1149 on February 09, 2010, 03:28:08 PM
Hi,

Under Settings/exclusions, I set up an excluded folder in which to put suspect files until their status could be confirmed. However last evening Avast flagged me that a file in that folder was arrested before it could be fired. This occurred during a deep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware scan.

At settings/exclusions it says that entries there will be excluded from both manual and shield scans, so it seems something is failing.

Also, regarding Anti-Malware, should I disable Avast's file shield while running? Or is Anti-Malware even necessary with Avast onboard?

[Edit] I just noticed the Anti-Malware thread. To clarify, this is the free version of AM, and this was a manual, not resident, scan. Thanks.

Lastly, just a word of praise for the degree of configurability of Avast 5. Very impressive piece of work, indeed.

Thanks,
p.
