Title: 5.0 Error

I upgraded from 4.8 to 5.0 and now it won't run and I get this message. Anyone know what it means and how I can turn Avast back on?

"The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail."

Hi wirejock, welcome to the forum :)

Is your Windows up to date ??? Updating Windows with all the updates/patches can solve this problem according to the forum members who had this problem.

It was, but after I installed 5.0 now my windows updater won't work either. I contacted Microsoft for that one too. Windows Updater gives me a 80070424 error.  :(
