@ Chris Thomas
This is somewhat of a slap in the face to Alwil software, who product you are using and who pay for this forum (and the help you have received from it) to have you effectively advertise a competitive product (give-away). This isn't the first time either creating a topic about another AV product is it. I would love to see the response to you posting such a post for a competing product in their forums.

Perhaps you should take up the offer and see what their forums are like.

@DavidR

This is a General Topics forum and all I did was just share some info.

I am an avid Avast user.

Why would a fool use Norton even if it is free for lifetime unless they want to crucify their PC?

What is wrong with sharing a news item?

You might be trying to close this topic by making me angry but I am not going to fall for it

Just keep searching and you will find many similar topics

And there is no Avast offer

If it was so then I would have posted in Comodo, AVG or Avira

Anyway,

Which AV company is going to give $180 for free unless they are in trouble

Yes, this is the general topic but I suggest you read what its purpose is. The moderators give a degree of leeway in what is posted because the Off-topic forum has been closed and the last thing I want to see the General forum go the same way.

I don't give a stuff if Norton/Symantec is in trouble or not (which I doubt), I give a stuff about avast, this forum and who is paying for it.

For your information the other links you post aren't the same as a) they aren't directly competing products, most are free already not paid options and or avast doesn't do what they do as in WinPatrol that you suggest I'm promoting.

Why should you be worried this much?  ???

Unless you are trying to show off....

People like Vlk and others make money and people like you waste your time.  ;D

If I had time I would have digged up many other posts related to your question

You better learn to read

The link I posted is only for US

And only for people who already have Norton in their system

Otherwise it is not completely free
