Title: Unable to connect laptop to internet - 'Error: 10044'

We have a laptop that I cannot connect to the internet either through a 3G stick or through the wireless. The laptop has previously been able to connect to the network fine.

I receive 4 separate 'avast!: Mail scanner warning' saying:

avast! will not be able to protect outgoing mail (SMTP protocol). Error: 10044
avast! will not be able to protect incoming mail (POP3 protocol). Error: 10044
avast! will not be able to protect news (NNTP protocol). Error: 10044
avast! will not be able to protect incoming mail (IMAP protocol). Error: 10044

Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this and how we can fix it?

Did you use any other antivirus before avast?
Are you using the antivirus or the suite (firewall)?
Any other firewall running?

Can't you just send/receive emails or can't browse either?
Which is your operational system?

You can download and install the "Error 10044 Repair Tool" for resolving this issue related to your laptop having the Windows Vista operating system. So search for it on the google and download it. After the proper installation of this tool restart the laptop again to lat the take effect the changes which is made by the installation of this software. This will fix the Error: 10044 issue in your laptop.

 :'(I think this is a BUG, so I e-mail scanning turned off, 3G connection also appears above
I think a standard should be enough protection, in order to avoid trouble!
