Title: Will Boot Scan be Avail on 64 bit systems
Post by: JohnL on February 19, 2010, 12:26:07 AM
I like to run a boot scan when I had avast 4.8 free home version.  I recently installed 5.0.418 version on My Dell PC running 64bit Windows 7....It tells me Boot scan is not available for 64bit systems.   Will this be added in future versions.. or is this only avail  for Avast Pro

Thanks

It will be included definitely in v5.1, we're already working on it.

Just wanted to say that I'm glad to hear that your working on this topic of boot scan for 64 bit. I really miss not being able to run a boot scan on Windows Seven Ultimate 64 bit. I think it is a valuable part of Avast and should attract more usuers when avalible. Fabe

As Fabe said I'm also very happy to hear that your working on a x64 boot time scan in 5.1 but is there a set release date for 5.1 yet.

No there is no 'fixed' release date, I believe complex issues shouldn't be rushed by any artificial date.

From other posts, around September is a guestimate, monitor the avast forums and you will find out here first as there would likely be a beta phase notified in the forums.
