Is there anywhere to get a coupon code to get a discount on Avast Internet Security 5.0? Thanks!
-
Hmmm... I don't know if there is a coupon right now... they make discounts on special dates (birthdays of the program, etc.).
-

Welcome to the forums, honda2010 :)
Where did you find this?
***
-
I have found it, using Google but...I suspect this is a spam plot...
-
***
That is my thinking also, Rumpel, which is why I was asking where honda2010 found it but I guess we do not need an answer. ;)

thats the coupon that i also used it was posted on wilders forum awhile back is where i got it from.
-
I'm pretty sure it was posted here in this thread...but was removed...that says enough to me...
-
Right now, there aren't any coupons.
The price for the Suit is $59.95
-
I had it posted and it got removed by someone. It works I used it 2 days ago. It goes through the avast element site for purchasing.
-
If I'm not suppost to post things like this on here dont just delete it at least let me know about it.
Edit by Vlk: yes please don't post it here.
-
I wouldn't post it...If it was removed before, then there was a reason.
You can modify it and remove it.
That looks like the actual avast! store, and also possibly a specific sale, so that may have been the reason.

However, even if it is legitimate, there is no clear explanation, either, leaving us in the dark... :-\ I really have no idea of how to react...

I see. At least, they don't seem to be happy with its being posted here.
Now, I'm sorry, honda2010, it seems to be just a misunderstanding at my end.
My belated welcome to the forum.[/Edit]

Well I'm sorry for posting it. I just thought other people might find it usefull and get other people to buy Avast. I know it did me and I really like the new 5.0. Sorry.

In fact, that's what I'd do when I recommend payed versions of Avast!. If it is not legal, I guess it is O.K. for us to do the same outside of this forum. In any case, it is not written in forum rules and is a pretty innocent case, IMO.

@ Honda
Why should you be sorry? 8)

Becasue apparently I did something that a couple people didn't like. I didn't come here to start trouble with staff or whoever I came here to get help and help others. I was just saying sorry for posting what I shouldn't have. I dont even know why I cant post it here but I guess its not wanted. ;D
-
This is just my opinion but, if it is an ethical issue, we can be sorry but, if it is a business issue, which, I think, is the case here, it should be dealt with in that way.
-
I dont know if its illegal or what but I got it from a computer forum that doesn't allow that kind of stuff to go on. Thats why I posted it here to give other people a chance to get a 20% discount on a awsome product like I did. It all worked fine to be when I clicked on it I went directly to the Avast Element Secure site for ordering. Anyway it is what it is. ;D

Yes. If it were illegal, I don't think Alwil would even keep this thread. I waited for a clear official answer to be sure but they haven't replied and I take it an O.K. sign. As long as we don't post links, it seems to be O.K. by their side. In any case, I'm happy with that you are not ill-intended person for now. ;)
-
Can you post a link if its dead? Or they just don't want links at all period?

Well, I'm not sure of your question but, if a link is dead, what's the point of posting it? ???
At least, they don't seem to be happy with links to coupons. If you are talking of links in general, it's a different question. As long as they are not lead to dangerous/offensive sites, I think they are considered to be O.K.
-
I mean not a live link so you cant just click on it and it directs you to somewhere. You can post it dead like this so you can copy and past in your address bar so it dont link you from this forum.

Live links are permitted but should never be posted to sites that can cause any one harm.
This isn't one of those forums where links need to be inside the
brackets.
Using the http:// enclosure is perfectly fine. :)

;) much faster if you type avast and push button [Ctrl][Enter] :-*

Your mixing up reaching a url in your browser with posting a live link here on the forum. :)

As for technical aspect, there is another way to do so.

About more fundamental possible solution...yes, to be honest, I'm inclined to suggest the moderators to disable links outside of these boards if it is possible since there are considerable amount of forum spam. I try to report whenever I see them but it's kind of routine... Also, this will prevent a new member from accidentally linking to a malicious sites. At the moment, whenever they do this, an older member suggests something like turning "http" to "hxxp", which is yet another routine.
