Title: Log Viewer: Safe to Delete Logs?
Post by: Ctrek on February 22, 2010, 05:52:01 PM
Good day,

Currently using version 4.8 Home Edition, I happened to come upon the Log Viewer for the very first time.  It contains quite a bit of history, some of which is from 3/2006 and the majority from 12/2009.

To regain hard drive space, is it safe to delete these logs?

Replies are both welcomed and awaited, and thanks in advance.

The logs usually aren't big, but yes, you can delete them.

If you're not running into periodic problems that you need to identify, it's probably a good idea to specify a "threshold" (i.e., level of seriousness) log, so that the less serious events don't get logged.  If I remember correctly, I only had Warning (and worse) logs enabled under 4.8.
