Title: avast updates
Post by: rlhayes on June 29, 2004, 03:04:40 PM
I receive a windows could not upgrade from file %1 to    %2.  when I start windows (me)  I had received a message that a more current version of avast was avbailable so I updated. I am running version  0426-1 dated 06/25/04. Any suggestions as to why I receive this message??  If I restart  the system I do not receive this message but If I shut the system off, the next time I start the system I receive the message again.

I am running version  0426-1 dated 06/25/04.

0426-1 is current virus definition version rather than the program version.

Which program version do you have? right click the blue 'a' ball in the system tray then click 'about avast!'

Will a repair help? Start>settings>control panel>add/remove programs then click avast! Antivirus and in the new window click repair>next

Also, when do you receive this error? At bootup or when a connection to the net is made?
