Title: Memory Scan - do not understand reported infections
Post by: dtc on March 09, 2010, 11:14:44 PM
I just installed the free version of avast and ran a memory scan. It showed 4 problems, but I do not understand the issues or how to fix them. The infections are all in a McAfee executable. In the report scan, I cannot select any of the 4 lines so cannot take any action. Any help would be appreciated.

it's probably just the McAfee virus definition database being detected. If it's that, no need to worry...if it's that...This said why do you run Avast and McAfee, not really advised  ;)

I am looking for a replacement for McAfee but have not removed it from the system. None of the virus checking options are enabled.

even if one is completely deactivated you can get conflicts, slow downs etc...
