Title: Google redirect virus
Post by: mkruzel on March 15, 2010, 02:33:29 PM
I had one user use the Internet Explorer 7 search bar and did a search and the person got what I think is the Google redirect virus.  A fake "Security Center" page comes up under the person's profile and all the icons disappear.  Luckily enough I can log in under a different profile and scan the pc.  I tried HitMan Pro 3.5 and that didn't work and am scanning with Malwarebytes.  Will Avast 5 work and remove this pesky virus under a boottime scan?

If you start Hitman Pro with the Ctrl button held down, it will do a 'force breach' which should stop processes blocking Hitman Pro :)
