Title: BSOD after upgrading from free to full version
Post by: Alayn on March 29, 2010, 03:20:19 PM
Hi,

After upgrading avast 5 free (5.0.462)with my new license i get a BSOD related to the firewall module (*** aswNdis2.sys - Address 8B5E6C62 base at 8B5D1000, DateStamp 4b744fd0), i tried to uninstall and install again with no success, i always get a BSOD if i install with the firewall module.

To temporary fix the problem i uninstalled and installed again avast without the firewall module and its not crashing anymore (but obviously i'm missing the firewall feature :P)

I'm not using any other firewall or antivirus, and the crash is on a Windows 7 32bits computer. I was not using avast 4.8 before, it was a clean avast 5 free install and then upgrade with the key file. The system was 100% stable before the avast upgrade.

I'm currently uploading my dmp files to ftp://ftp.asw.cz/incoming (file name memorydmp.zip)

Just tell me if you need anything else or want me to test anything.

Thanks and bye (sorry for my crap english!)

Since i have dual boot, i'll try to access Win7 and rename the aswNdis2.sys.

The issue seems fixed after installing the new pre-release version 5.0.492 .
