Title: Upgrading from free av to IS
Post by: xqrzd on April 10, 2010, 01:48:48 AM
I had bought an IS license a few weeks ago, and I wanted to install avast IS on a second computer (the license said I could use it 3 times), but after clicking the "insert avast pro antivirus / Internet Security license file" avast said it would upgrade to the IS version, but the updater seemed to do nothing, so I rebooted, and still no IS. I guess I will uninstall the free version and download IS. Could this be fixed in upcoming versions though? Also, this didn't somehow use up a license did it?

Well what I did is that I have the avast free version and I double click on the avast license key file.
What it does it that it automatically does a program update and after it downloaded and installed the file,
it asked me to reboot and after the reboot the avast internet security was installed :)

If it used up a license that one I don't know maybe no..because it remained the free version right?
